Born in 1974 and graduating
from Calcutta University in 1997 Kaushik Ghosh developed
a distinctive and largely self taught artistic style.
In fact rather than limiting himself to a single style
he has branched out in varied directions. In many of
his early works there comes a fusion of classical Indian
portraiture and European style early cubism. His work
has featured in individual showings at Calcutta Academy
of Fine Art and the Shistry Art Society.
This collection focuses on representation of the often
dramatic landscape of India's far northeastern region.
Kaushik's keen perception and often extravagant palette
captures the atmosphere in a truly distinctive way.
