BEGINNINGS

Born in Sanjuali, Himachal Pradesh. He was an activist in the Communist Party until mid 1950?s. 1963 Founded member, Group 1890, a group of 12 artists, Bhavnagar. 1966 Published polemical monthly, Contra, in collaboration with Octavio Paz. 1981-90 Founder Director, Roopankar Museum, Bharat Bhavan, Bhopal. 1985-86 Along with, Robin David, created a monument in memory of poet Iqbal, Bhopal.

  • 1958 Studied at Academy of Fine Arts, Warsaw.
