Born in Shantiniketan in
1940, she received Diploma in Fine Arts & Crafts
in 1960, followed by M.A. in Ancient Indian History
and Culture in 1966 from Visva-Bharti University, Shantiniketan.
She had her first solo show at Habiart Gallery New Delhi
in 1993 and Nazar Gallery in Baroda in, 1998, Apart
from solo exhibitions she has participated in numerous
group shows such as 'Impressions' organised by ICCR
in New Delhi; 'Palash' the exhibition of Kala-Bhavana;
'Gift for India' organised by Sahmat in New Delhi; Mumbai
in 1997 and Rama Krishna Sarada Mission Centenary Exhibition
in Calcutta in 1998. Her paintings are today to be found
in many private collections in India & abroad.
